There are two ways i am aware of for limiting or capping the framerate in the game; Dxtory, and the ENBSeries speed implant. The interesting thing is that i've tried both, capping the framerate to 60 fps in both instances, and in both cases my framerate in the game drops from around 50-60 to around 20-30. It's at least not an issue with Dxtory being overzealous or something, as i used it to cap framerates similarly in the Witcher 2 without issue. Is this happening for anybody else?
Also, if anybody is interested in trying either of these methods, the ENBSeries speed implant (which also helps to alleviate stuttering) can be found here: http://enbdev.com/download_en.htm , and Dxtory can be found here: http://dxtory.com/
To cap framerate with the ENBSeries fix, just extract the archive to the folder with your DXHR.exe in it, and then open the included ini file and change the frame cap from '1000' or whatever it defaults to to '60' or whatever you want to cap it to. This will only work in Dx9 mode, as the entire speed implant fix will not work in dx11.
To use Dxtory download the program, open it, click on the tab with the microchip on it and set you fps cap, minimize Dxtory and then start the game. It will also have an fps overlay, which you can disable from the tab with the picture of the monitor on it.
