DLC MISSING LINK - Stuttering/Frame Drops RETURN! Old Build?

Downloaded the Deus Ex Missing Link DLC today. Upon playing it, I instantly noticed stutters and frame drop are back, especially when one zooms to aim with a weapon, or when zooming in an a terminal to hack. Game appears to be running build 1.0.62.9, and even says "Missing Link DLC coming in October!" in the ticker at the bottom. After the patches that have been provided for the game since release, I haven't had any problems with the Deus Ex: HR until this DLC.

Seems like the Missing Link is running an extremely old build. Any idea if the devs can confirm? Or anyone else on this forum experiencing similar problems?

Its NOT an old build
The DLC and the main game are separate.. So the version numbers wont match up..

The ticker simply hasnt been updated yet today..

i think the dlc works great, previous problems has been fixed for me which was the cutscene stutters.

Good to hear the stutter is fixed for you in the DLC (believe these fixes will be in the main code shortly)

oh yes, isn't the DLC supposed to have updated engine, and whatnot?

perhaps a driver problem with nVidia? Haven't they been slacking with drivers recently?

Yes, the DLC seem more stable for me and has great visuals. Can you incorporate the minor graphics updates in the main game engine too? That would be awesome.

steam just downloaded 30.6mb of something for deus ex HR, patch maybe?

Hi, I have a radeon 5970 and have the same issues. DEHR works just fine but the Missing Link is full of stutter (unplayable). It even crashed twice after the first cut scene when the girl starts talking. I veryfied the integrity of game cache on steam and it downloaded the whole dlc again. Did not crash this time but stutters like crazy. Its like deja vue.

And the full game is running on the new patch? cos those are based on the same exes effectively, so makes no sense that the dlc is problematic :(

Thanks for the reply. After reading your reply I decide to launch the dlc again and to my surprise it works just fine. Wow. Dont know what happened but its perfect now. Almost feel sorry to have post in the first place. Thanks

I haven't noticed any stutter in the DLC so far. The DLC does seem more stable than the main game.


It did, however, crash as I exited though, strangely enough. Just noting in case it turns out to be a bug and not just some random crash.

pc: c2d e8400 @ 3.2 , gtx 560 , 3gb ram

regardless of the settings the game stutters sometimes fps drops to 15 for a sec or sometimes it stutters at 40 fps. the stuttering occurs when passing by a specific spot. if i wait 1 sec at the spot where fps dropped to 15 , it goes back to 60 again.

i'm playing at everything max and cpu , gpu usage is around %80. lowering the settings didnt change anything. Please help!

I have the same issue: Stuttering in both cutscenes and gameplay. Alienware M14x. Fully updated drivers. Downloaded through Steam's weekend deal.
