Can we also send in maps in Xport/Sharkport format? Many peopel only have one card, it would a lot easier to simply email you the map :)

Sounds intresting but I'm not going to waste £30 n a memory card I might not get back.

Eidos doesn't use Xport/Sharkport so this is not possible. However, I will ask Marketing to consider using Xport/Sharkport so as to make things easier in future.
All memory cards will be returned.

Why is this competition only for PS2 players, why not gamecube and xbox as well??

Yeah... here's what you'd have to compete against if Gamecube owners from North America were eligible:
I have six story mode missions that go together into a single story.
Mission 1: Stealth. I really worked the timing on patrolling bots so that you have to be in the right place at the right time. Headshots are necessary. The map is very large and my objectives require a fair bit of backtracking (but with shortcuts). After many tries, a buddy of mine finally finished it with a mission time of ~25 minutes. My best time is 2m50s. I used a couple of stationary enemies with sniper rifles that have lines of sight than run down three or more floors because of the way I staggered some large tiles. It's very cool how enemies with sniper rifles have better vision and react quicker to you than enemies with other weapons.
Mission 2: You have to destroy 32 crates that are spread around a map that resembles a spaceship. The catch is that monkeys are continuously spawning and you have to find and finish off the crates before the "monkey count" reaches 50 (the monkey counter increases by 1 every 2.5 seconds. Of course killing a monkey reduces the count by 1 and buys you some time).
Mission 3: Stealthy like mission #1, but harder. There are actually a couple dynamic moves needed whereby an enemy sort-of sees you and reacts by approaching, but the game logic doesn't actually trigger that you've been seen. My buddy still hasn't figured this one out.
Mission 4: You are in a big warehouse where the TS2 girls spawn and try to take you out with rocket launchers. The catch is that you have to eliminate them without letting all the crates in the warehouse get destroyed ... harder than it sounds.
Mission 5: A darkly lit "schoolhouse" (very large maze that makes liberal use of the "small T"). It's filled with zombies but no weapons. You have to find and rescue a friend (actually an enemy with a fire extinguisher). The problem is that there's a Gargoyle with a minigun and only one way to take him out (kinda complicated use of three switches, a couple counters and some game logic to make a sort-of puzzle).
Mission 6: The closest thing that I could make to an assault level with many autoguns and enemies with miniguns and homing rockets. The map is a wide open maze of bridges that you have to cross between "safe stations" with lots of health, but it's designed such that you can't reach the enemies (or their weapons). The enemies are all "spawn and attack" type which makes them immediately aware of your presence and very aggressive. You have to have enough health at the end to take out the "boss" of my story.
I'd like to say that I spent less than 100 hours on these ... but I'd be lying.

Sounds like your missions are on a par with mine, spanks. Some have got ideas I never thought of. Is there any chance you can transcribe them onto blueprint and logic format so I can make them (or as close as possible) of the PS2, this way I can add them to my site as downloadable files for Xport/Sharkport owners. You'll be fully credited for it, of course. After all, they're your creations.
BTW keep an eye out for anything similar to an Xport for the GCube, we'll gladly host your maps for you. Same goes for XBox owners. If there's nothing out there yet there might be sooner or later!

Gamecube USB Memory Adapter --> GC Memory Adapter (http://www.hkems.com/product/gc/gc%20usb.htm)
You can transfer your saves from the Xbox to PC, I don't know anything about it other than it's possable. Try doing a search in Google (http://www.google.com) :)

I'll keep that in mind. For now, I'm still hoping that Eidos puts out an expansion pack for TS2 with an improved mapmaker that is compatible with TS2 map files and supports online map exchange (using the official gamecube network adapter). I think an online tool for converting map file formats between cube, ps2 and xbox should be possible too. Are you listening FRD?

Yeah, guys. I mean, we're talking data files here not executables that are platform dependant. I'm sure somebody with a little coding knowledge, FRD or not, should be able to come up with something! I just wished I'd picked the right subject at University, bloomin' electronics degree!!

I have no idea (I wasn't told about the competition until it was announced).
I can only guess that it is to do with the fact that the official PS2 magazine is holding it in conjunction with Eidos.
Logic would dictate that as Sony is in competition with Microsoft and Nintendo that can mean only one possible outcome... *does some calculations on his banana calculator*
...a PS2 only competition..

Would this OPS2 DVD also have some downloadable maps from Free Radical as well as the 5 competition winner maps??
That'd be cool if that were true.

Well, I've posted my story map off to Eidos for the compo. Even if I don't win I hope they have fun playing it. It's called SS-Tyranus. It's one that's been available to download on my site for some time now. I did have another possible map to send instead of that one but it's part of a 4-part story and so it might not have made sense on it's own. Anyway, fingers crossed.

Good luck!
Let's hope TS2 online happens this year! Maybe we'll all get a chance to play your level.

Downloading maps off each other wouldn't work, unless the hard drive is ready this year as well.
There wouldn't be be much point reselling TS2 again with online anyway unless they make an FREE update disk like for Frequency.
Anyway, you wouldn't be able to play each other over different platforms!!!!!
