Out of signal and black screen?

Whenever i try and boot the game up i get the out of signal and a black screen, i havent been able to play the game yet and ive fiddled around with the resolution and nothing is helping, please help me guys :)

what are you machine specs? laptop/desktop? monitor make/resolution etc?

My monitor is a very old vivitron 15 ahahaha ( gateway2000) my new monitor decided to break on me, my system is vista, 4gb ram, nvidia geforce 8600 gts 512mb i believe, not sure on the revolution of the screen, anything else?

is your monitor able to do about 1024x768 at 60hz? within the setup program you can select the hz to run at.. some monitors dont run properly at some hz.. try different settings there.

also make sure you have actual drivers for your monitor installed, sometimes if the monitor is installed as a `generic` monitor it may not `understand` the information the graphics card is giving it.. always try and run proper drivers.

yeh the monitor has always been set to 1024x768 at 60 hz and still no luc, i have also searched for new drivers and i have the latest ones :/

what is your windows desktop resolution?

are u able to select say 59hz instead of 60?

no the lowest is 60

Ive just noticed something, the game itself is changing the resolutoon to 85hz which my moniter cant run, is there a way to stop it from doing that?

No i havent, what is it and what should i do with it?

right, well its a tool for editing `settings` on your machine directly.. you have to be VERY careful when using it..

go to run (windows key and R is shortcut).. type `regedit` then press enter

This will load the tool.. You will see 5 lines

HKEY_classes_root
HKEY_Current_user
HKEY_local_machine
HKEY_users
Hkey_Current_config.

Expand HKEY_Current_User (click on the little triangle to left of the name)
Then expand the `software` line,
Then expand the `Eidos` line,
Then expand the `Deus Ex: HR` line
Then click on the `Graphics` line.

Note on the right hand side there lots of entries, look for one saying `Fullscreenrefreshrate` double click on this, type in `3c` (which is 60 in hex)

Click okay, and then close the tool, try the game again
