Hello,
I have problem with run this game. When I click dxhr.exe, 2sec later I have crash. I install newest patch 1.0.618.8 , vga drivers, directx and MS visual C++. My system is win xp 32bit SP3
I think that problem is with my vga card- Radeon x1900 256mb. I know that minimal spec. for this game is radeon x2000 series, but i often see similar info on others games and it runs good on my Radeon x1900 256mb. First game which i've had problem was Resident evil 5 but someone realease modded patch and i can run on my old vga.
Somebody run this game with x1900 Radeon card???
Thx for help.

Hi,
I'm playing it on almost 5 years old notebook with specs:
amd turion x2 1.8GHz
3 GB RAM
ati mobility radeon x1600 128mb (+256mb shared).
game runs smoothly on low settings, with exception of stutterings in city hubs - but it seems many people even with powerful HW have this problem.
So I think it should be playable on x1900. Try setting graphics to minimum and turn off all advanced settings via setup menu (If it doesn't show when you start the executable, create shorcut to it and add -setup at the end of its target property). Additionaly, last time I checked, latest version of game was 1.1.622.0.

I'm playing it on a 5 yr old iMac with X1600, 3GB RAM and 2.18Ghz core 2 duo - have a strange mouse lag, but the video seems pretty ok except in wide open areas - not sure if the mouse lag is related to the gpu or not

Update:: I found that over-clocking the x1600 has sorted the lag in open areas - I now get a pretty solid 20+ fps in the most demanding areas and up to about 50 in less busy bits... Playing minimum res with all bells and whistles switched off tho. :( Need a new PC

I've tested DXHR on my secondary PC which has a X1950Pro. The performance isn't great, but it's playable most of the time.
So it shouldn't be your GPU causing the problem.

On the x1600, I managed to improve performance from 3200 - 4100 (3DMark05) which corresponds in-game from almost unplayable lag (I was running around looking at the ground in open areas so that I could get around the hubs quickly) to being very reasonable performance (able to look anywhere with only the very biggest areas causing a mild stutter)
- I'd recommend downloading a copy of 3Dmark05 and running your system through it - if you get 3500+ then I'd say it's more than playable, but I wouldn't try a confrontational style as aiming is quite difficult with these framerates - ofc this makes the boss battles even tougher but I've still managed to beat the first boss on hardest difficulty.

The ati 1900 should be able to run the game, as its SM3.0 etc.. whats the rest of the specs of your machine.
618 isnt the latest patch and you wouldnt need to install anything as steam handles it all and would have updated you to the latest (622)..
Are you trying to run the game outside of steam?
