View Full Version : Cloak and Dagger Mission broken...

The Cloak and Dagger Mission is broken. For some reason I cannot complete O'malley's instructions. Here are the screen shots.
I kill Double T with the crossbow.
However here the entire quest entry in the journal disappears.
But never-mind the journal, Deus Ex is built on the philosophy of a reactive simulation -- it's what made the original so great.
So I plant crossbow in stash.
Now, I go back to where O'malley is but he's just disappeared.
So has Jenny.
Now, I know that Eidos Montreal wouldn't intentionally completely ignore the design philosophy and goals that made the original Deus Ex the masterpiece that it is... so I can only assume that this is a bug and will be fixed forth-with.

The whole point of the mission is that you don't follow the bad cop's instructions, but those of the good cop.
I know it is Deus Ex, but wanting the game to account for you helping bad guys instead of doing what you originally agreed to do is a bit of a stretch...

Some things Deus Ex accounted for just in the first third of the game.
1. Killing NSF hostage.
2. Killing first guard on site at top of tower.
3. Killing Anna Navarre in airplane (when ordered to kill Lebedev).

It would have been brilliant, hearing the proposal/reasons for the hit and deciding what's needed is a little gangwar to decimate the gangbangers, getting paid for it by the "bad guy" would have been just a bonus. ;)
I was seriously pissed off when the mission just ended and everyone disappeared after Double T is shot ... although it wasn't the only similar problem i found on the first play-through so it's probably that way by design. :mad2:

This is why I don't understand how the team at Eidos Montreal can sleep with themselves at night.
