I am trying to figure out whether my computer supports Thief: Deadly Shadows. Most of the system requirements, my laptop blows away; actually, I think I meet the "recommended" level for most of them. (I know the original release said that it doesn't support laptops, but my impression is that newer laptops usually are fine?) Assuming I can get it to work even though I'm running Vista x64, my only concern are my graphics (which is the only hardware I don't understand).

Here's what I know:
Display adapter type: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
Total available graphics memory: 1759 MB
Dedicated graphics memory: 128 MB
Dedicated system memory: 0 MB
Shared system memory: 1631 MB
Display adapter driver version: 7.15.10.1527
Primary monitor resolution: 1366x768
DirectX version: DirectX 10
I also know that it supports Pixel Shader 4.0.

Will Deadly Shadows work on my laptop? Or am I doomed to never get to play it?

I don't know. The issue is not minimum requirements; it is backward compatibility. It's a question of operating system and little tweaks that may be necessary to get an older game working on modern computers with modern OS and modern graphics cards. Even if it does not work out of the box, there is a reasonable chance that it can be made to work eventually, with persistence. There is lots of information here and at TTLG about various OSs and tweaks. Sorry I am not more help.
