so. before the first mission you can decide to be a warrior ( shoot everything) or a "ninja" to silent kill or pass enemies.... (taken from videos of the game).
Does this affect the xp you gain when playng..
lets say you say to your boss that you want to do a "ninja" mission without them detecteing you.. bot they do, and you kill everyone. how does taht affect XP ?
If not, then what is the point in the question of how you will do the mission?

The choice offered there deals with what equipment you're issued. Actual xp is given according to actual performance.

Each enemy killed rewards you with a little bit of EXP.
Each enemy knocked out (by peaceful means) rewards you with even more EXP. (however, pacifist weapons have quite rare ammo and are harder to use)
Sneaking through an entire mission rewards you with a fat quantity of EXP.
Hacking and Socializing also reward you a lot.
In the end, the EXP is a little balanced

You're never locked to a stealthy or combat route in missions, only in boss-fights but even those can be done without firing a shot if you're clever in using found objects. As stated before in the thread, you only get asked what sort of approach you're taking in the first mission and that only determines which additional single weapon you receive out of four; tranquilliser rifle, stun gun, flechette rifle or revolver (for non-lethal or lethal long range engagement or short range, respectively). However that obviously doesn't mean you have to abide by any rules; there's no 'Game Over' screen in the game, just like prior Deus Ex games.

But it's only if your not seen for the WHOLE mission right?
I could be playing stealthily, then spotted once, don't I lose the whole lot?

Yes, yes. The whole mission.
Guess that if you're spotted, then you must quickload... lol
I think it would be quite an achievment ; being a perfect ghost is really tough to do

I'm pretty sure it's objectives that you will get the "ghost" bonus. Like in the preview video you get the "ghost" bonus for just completing the objective of getting inside the plant. I did end up finishing the mission getting the ghost bonus though although extremely difficult; the multi-solution (a.k.a. air ducts) really shines at these points. And yes I saved a LOT. I think that they can get to the "alarmed" stage but not "hostile" before you lose the bonus.

It'd be nice if there was a way to see the status of this, the not-seen-by-cameras bonus, and any other longer-term tracked bonuses.
