So the fan(s) inside of my PlayStation 3 really are the demonic workings of some Hellspawn who has it in for me.
They are, so loud, that when I called Customer Service the representative from SONY could hear it, and this was while we were talking and I was pacing around the room, it isn't like I had the phone right up next to the PS3 or anything.
Anyway, I explained the situation to her, told her about how I had tried home-made solutions on it and they all ended in failure.
Although after that she said that none of it even mattered, the problem with my PS3 wasn't a problem you could fix with some "home-brew" method you learn online or are instructed to do while on Customer Support.
No, it's a problem that warrants sending the PS3 in to be repaired, which I'd like to say I've done already.
My first PS3 got messed up because I dropped it down the stairs like an idio (I was carrying it to set it up in another room and it slipped out of my hands) and even then it wasn't Broken and wuldn't play anything, just messed up looking with bits of plastic missing, so when they told me if I wanted it repaired I'd have to send it in and pay a fee of $150.00 (my warranty had expired by that point) so I said fine and did it and recieved a brand new 60GB Model PS3.
But this! This Is Not My Fault, and I don't know if I could've gotten a warranty when the new PS3 was shipped (probably not) so it's not like I can get it fixed for free.
So I have basically two options. I can either
A.) Spend the money, get it repaired, give up PS3 for a Month (I didn't even get to try out my copy of L.A. Noire :(), get wither a new 60 GB PS3 or the same repaired 60 GB PS3 with the potential for some **** like this to happen again.
OR
B.) Sell it (if I can), use the money in conjuction with what money I have an buy a new PS3 (a Slim, I hate how large the 60 GB PS3 is and how much NOISE it makes) with 120 GB (60 GB is NOT ENOUGH for someone like me, I literally have to delete something every time I want to download a game or game trailer etcetera). I also don't care about the oh-so-rare-novelty that is the PS2 Backwards compatibility, who gives a ****, I have a PlayStation 2, I'll play PS2 games on that and play PlayStation 3 games on the damn PS3.
The downside to this though is the cost, a new 120 GB Slim costs around $270-$280.00. I don't know if I'll be able to sell my current PS3, and if I do I wouldn't know where or how much I'd get for it, but assuming I can't sell it I could still afford to buy the Slim.
The downside to that is that I'd be spending the better part of all the money I recieved for my Birthday (Money which I planned to use to buy a Quality Video Camera so that I can shoot short films over the Summer). I'd probably be about $150.00 shy of affording a camera (and it would be the cheapest kind of "quality camera" available).
****. ****, ****, ****, ****, ****.
What would you do? And any of you guys know a good place to sell this bastard? I hear some people claim they're "rare" because of the compatibility thing but I dunno.
