Ask a question starting with "What if..." and the next poster will provide an answer, as well as the next question.

I'll start:

What if Batman was always depicted as the The Dark Knight Returns version in every incarnation of Batman ever? (including all comics, movies, cartoons, video games, etc.)

Old_BenKenobi

Judging from the seeping of that character into the mainstream version, the results wouldn't be pretty and would get old fast.

What if Batman finally stopped being so antiquated and got himself a suit of powered armour?

JackWinz
03-20-2011, 04:00 PM
He'd get bored.

What if Burton made another movie?

butterskenny
03-20-2011, 04:19 PM
Jackwinz might die of happiness?

What if Robin never existed?

Old_BenKenobi
03-20-2011, 05:31 PM
Batman would be remembered as a pulp hero who died out not long after his debut.

What if Schumacher had been able to make "Batman Triumphant"?

Jayngo
03-20-2011, 05:52 PM
Madonna would of been the worst Harley Quinn ever and Martin Short would of been a great Mad Hatter.

What if Keaton would of done one more Batman movie and Robin Williams played the Riddler AND it was directed by Burton?

JackWinz
03-20-2011, 09:00 PM
I would have, quite literally, exploded. EXPLODED.

What if Adam West replaces Bale in Batman 3?

DarkKnightReturns

I will hang myself in five minutes.

What if Jason Todd never died?

Old_BenKenobi
03-21-2011, 05:14 AM
He would have had a close brush with death thanks to Joker, would have had an epiphony and would become less of a wanker and more like Dick Grayson.

What if Batman had never found a Robin after Jason died?

Ask a question starting with "What if..." and the next poster will provide an answer, as well as the next question.

Is it okay to answer previous questions? There just happens to be so many fun questions to answer!

What if Batman was always depicted as the The Dark Knight Returns version in every incarnation of Batman ever? (including all comics, movies, cartoons, video games, etc.)

Well Batman's market would be much more niché like Judge Dredd or something. Cartoons would be very much like Batman Beyond but with Bruce as Batman obviously and close to no political understones at all. Really i mean we're talking about a Clint Eastwood as a Bat with political issues over the different eras of publications, would it be so popular to spin off cartoons games and so forth?

What if Batman finally stopped being so antiquated and got himself a suit of powered armour?

I was bored and thought about this for Peter Parker, Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne. Bruce's story would invoke new gods, time travel and the conclusion would be Batman killing himself to rid off the acknowledgement of evil. Really have Batman do a samurai style self kill pin up page as the conclusion of the story.

What if Batman had never found a Robin after Jason died?

I would have imagen they would have tried to do things with Dick Grayson Nightwing partnership, but Azrael would have been inevitable due to the grimdark age of comics, but yeah i guess Batman and Nightwing would have been the deal, but i'd say they would have brought back Jason ultimately sooner or later. :p I know Dennis O'Neill wanted to keep Jason dead even tho he regretted it, but it was a choice made and he wanted to keep it at that.

Question: How do you feel comic movies would have been seen by the academy and in general if Orson Welles' Batman movie (http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=14529) had been filmed?

Old_BenKenobi
03-21-2011, 06:19 AM
If Orson Welles' Batman movie had been filmed... Wow, that would have changed the face of comics and public perception of them. Don't know about Welles playing Batman though... Gregory Peck would have been awesome however. Coincidentally, Alex Ross's "Old Batman" design from Kingdom Come has a lot of Gregory Peck in it.

What if Batman: The Brave and the Bold was replaced with Aquman: The Outrageous and the Bold?

JackWinz
03-21-2011, 07:48 AM
I wouldn't really care, I wouldn't watch it.. But I can't imagine it would be anything but awesome.

What if I told you I have an AC Beta?

butterskenny
03-21-2011, 11:02 AM
Then I would come to your house and play it!

What if Rocksteady decided never to make AC?

Jayngo
03-21-2011, 02:28 PM
Then we would still be stuck with the greatest superhero game ever.

What if Rocksteady hired Shumacher as writer, visual artist, AND gameplay mechanics director?

JackWinz
03-21-2011, 02:30 PM
It'd be FABULOUS!! (and nippley)

What if JJ. Abrams made Batman Beyond?

DarkKnightReturns
03-21-2011, 03:12 PM
I'd probably be impressed, even if Beyond isn't exactly entirely my thing.

What if Barbara Gordon was dipped into a Lazarus Pit and could walk again?

butterskenny
03-21-2011, 03:32 PM
I'd probably be impressed, even if Beyond isn't exactly entirely my thing.

What if Barbara Gordon was dipped into a Lazarus Pit and could walk again?

Then she might take over her daddies role of commissioner!

What if Mark Hamil never voiced Joker?

DarkKnightReturns
03-21-2011, 03:37 PM
Tim Curry would probably voice him and scare the hell out of kids.

What if Zack Snyder got to adapt The Dark Knight Returns?

JackWinz
03-21-2011, 09:47 PM
*Unable to answer question due to Heart Attack*

What if Clint Eastwood played Batman in the 70's or 80's? o_O

DarkKnightReturns
03-21-2011, 11:21 PM
Oh, God, that'd be epic.

What if Clint Eastwood got to be Two-Face on the Adam West '60's show as originally planned?

mwkcope
03-24-2011, 01:45 PM
It would be watched daily today.

What if Alfred Hitchcock directed a Batman movie?

JackWinz
03-24-2011, 02:31 PM
Chris Nolan wouldn't even bother.

What if Hyrule was in Gotham, and Link was Batman?

DarkKnightReturns
03-24-2011, 05:15 PM
Zelda would be an even better game by at least ten times much.

What if Batman, Gotham, and everything to do with Batman was part of Marvel instead of DC comics?

mwkcope
03-24-2011, 05:20 PM
I wouldn't care about at all.

What if Batman was a villain?

butterskenny
03-24-2011, 05:21 PM
Then we might have Prometheus

What if Joker was a hero?

mwkcope
03-24-2011, 05:24 PM
He already is using his alter-ego The Creeper. Jk.

What if every Batman comic known to man was a mystery noir?

butterskenny
03-24-2011, 05:35 PM
He already is using his alter-ego The Creeper. Jk.

What if Joker and Harley and a child?

DarkKnightReturns
03-24-2011, 06:59 PM
It'd be pretty screwed up...

What if BTAS was still airing to this very day?

JackWinz
03-24-2011, 08:47 PM
We'd be living in a Utopian society.

What if Willem Defoe played the Joker? o__O

Old_BenKenobi
03-24-2011, 08:52 PM
Then we'd have attained the most perfect screen Joker possible.

What if The Dark Knight Returns was never written?

DarkKnightReturns
03-24-2011, 09:22 PM
Christopher Nolan would make a movie about a man that sprays and punches sharks and the villain refusing to shave his mustache off although the character doesn't have one.

What if a metafictional Batman story was released about Batman investigating a case trying to prove that Bob Kane stole an unknown item of great importance from Bill Finger?

Old_BenKenobi
03-24-2011, 09:41 PM
Grant Morrison would be picking up another Eisner.

What if Batman's anti-murder oath was never written into the character?

DarkKnightReturns
03-24-2011, 10:04 PM
Batman would become just as generic, bland, cliche and boring as just about every other vengeance-driven murdering hero.

What if a metafictional Elseworlds story was released in a reality with no supernatural elements (ala Brian Azzarello's Joker) where Batman is investigating the death of George Reeves (actor who used to play Superman on TV)?

JackWinz
03-25-2011, 09:36 AM
He would find Tom Welling to be the culprit..

What if I was allowed the means to make a Batman movie?
Would you have faith in me?

mwkcope
03-25-2011, 02:01 PM
Depends.:p

What if Bill Murray played Batman and Micheal Keaton played Peter Venkman?

JackWinz
03-25-2011, 02:16 PM
Dude, I would totally watch that.

What if DCAU made a modern adaption of Batman 89' sticking closely to the Original Script? (http://sfy.ru/?script=batman_production)

DarkKnightReturns
03-25-2011, 03:11 PM
I bet it would be totally awesome.

What if Batman wasn't born Bruce Wayne, but was the child of an obsessive, masked society who was dubbed Batman at birth, and then something happened that jarred his life and he became the ultimate crimefighter then established a new identity in Gotham as Bruce Wayne?

JackWinz
03-25-2011, 04:18 PM
His dad might be Ras' Al Ghoul... which might make for a really awesome story.

What if Heath Ledger was the Joker in Batman 89'?

DarkKnightReturns
03-25-2011, 04:39 PM
Err... Wouldn't he be too young to play The Joker at that time? As awesome as that may be...

What if Mark Hamill played the Joker in Batman '89?

mwkcope
03-25-2011, 06:10 PM
I'd die.

What if Superman was Batman?

DarkKnightReturns

What if Harley Quinn had a secret agenda before ever setting foot in Arkham, becoming obsessed with and infatuated with Batman, and faking her affections for Joker as a way to get closer to The Dark Knight?

JackWinz
03-25-2011, 07:01 PM
Her character would have WAAAAAAY more credit..

What if Mask of The Phantasm had been the next Tim Burton movie?
Casting anyone?..
