Hi guys, long time no see.
I got the retail version of this game way back when it was first released, and really enjoyed it. Today it went on sale on Steam, so I decided to buy it again for convenience.
I recently bought a new graphics card (GTX 470), so I was really looking forward to playing it with everything set to max.
Unfortunately, the game crashes on startup if I set the detail level to higher than low, which is a bit disappointing. Everything else I can change to whatever I like (PhysX at high, AA at 16XQ, etc.), but even if I set the detail level to medium the game just crashes. :hmm:
Now, I still have my old copy of the game, and my old graphics card, so I could do some serious troubleshooting if I have to, but I'd rather not. Has anyone experienced this problem before?
Edit: Ran a "verify integrity of game cache" through Steam, which proceeded to download about 300 MB of something (even though I had just installed the game an hour previous). Everything now works fine. Meh Steam.
