Hello everyone,

I recently downloaded Batman: Arkham Asylum for my PC. It crashes every time I start it up. I downloaded the demo beforehand and it would work fine for awhile, then mid-game it would show the BSOD. Now it crashes immediately after I pass the "Click to start" screen. I have since updated my sound and graphics card drivers with no results.

Windows XP SP3
ATI Radeon Mobility X1400
SigmaTel HD Audio Codec
My hardware should be fast enough to run it.

Also, when I try to install the patch manually, it says I don't have Arkham Asylum installed. I downloaded it from Steam, but I checked the registry and it shows the correct path. I don't know what else I can try. If any other info is needed, I'll be checking back regularly. Thanks in advance!

The steam version doesn't need the patch, so you don't need to worry about that.

As for the BSOD, is there any chance that your system is overheating?

Good to hear that I don't need the patch. It's possible that my machine is overheating, but I don't think it is. I tend to try playing BAA after running it for awhile, but it doesn't feel very hot. I'm running a Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop computer, so I can hear the fan when it starts to go and it's usually running at a low speed when I open BAA.

As for the BSOD, it shows the following info under the "Technical Information" section of the report:

STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBFC575FC, 0xAC1545B0, 0x00000000)

The Mobility card might not be supported.

Laptop graphic cards are not usually supported, not to say a game won't work with a laptop but it is left up to chance whether or not it will. The minimum supported card is the X1300, and that isn't a Mobility card so you are really only a step up from that and probably (gaming wise) barely above the minimum with the laptop.

How much RAM do you have? Video memory?

I've seen some other people on the internet also have problems with the ati3duag.dll file. does anyone know what to do with this?
