I chose Dead Space 2! Man i am so hyped! Gonna get a little mini plasma cutter, run down stairs and pretend i am cutting my sisters limbs off, then watch her scream and slowly die on the floor. Blood gurgling from her stumps, my reflection in the blood puddle....paradise...
Anyway, i got Dead Space Ignition code with it. It's ******* bollocks. No-one buy this! Only good point about Ignition is the comic, still does not explain how Necromorphs got on the Sprawl but that will be answered in the game (i think i know how they start infecting the Sprawl!)
Has anyone else pre-ordered a Collectors Edition before and what game was it? I have got a few limited editions (Dead Men, Dog Day's, Dante's Inferno, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Bad Company 2.) but never a Collectors Edition.
I only buy limited Editions when it is the same price as a normal game. 40 quid.

The only Collector's editions I bought are Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Very awesome, very much worth the 80 bucks.

I never preordered anything, but I bought the collectors editions of Enslaved (very very awesome) which came with a hard covered artbook and a soundtrack cd, I also bought bioshocks CE, which is a terrible game imo and I really regret having bought it at all and infamous' "Special edition" which I think can be labelled as a collectors edition :P
All of these collectors editions only cost 10€ more than the regular versions though...

Jesus christ man they're the same damn thing , they just have different names ! ...
Limited/Special/Collector/Hardcore/Expensive/Dumbass Edition , they're all the same , it's just standard game + mostly useless objects ...
The only Collector's editions I bought are Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Very awesome, very much worth the 80 bucks.
I bought Fallout 3's collector edition because it was really cheap (surprisingly t'was only one month after release , and i don't think it costed more than fifty bucks , new and sealed) ...
I only bought it because it was cheap , if it hadn't been i don't think it would have been worth it ... ... ... ... then again no , that vault boy 'represents' me mighty well i say ... Proud-like ...
New Vegas' however has got , what , a deck of cards , some chips , a comic book that we'll only read once , and the obligatory making of video ...
Is it really worth eighty bucks ? ... it's not like there was another game in it , especially considering i just bought three games for sixty bucks yesterday ...
I never preordered anything,
Hi Five ! ...
I also bought bioshocks CE, which is a terrible game imo and I really regret having bought it at all
HI FIVE part deux ! ...
Oh alright , 'regret' is a bit too much , but whatever ...
and infamous' "Special edition" which I think can be labelled as a collectors edition :P
Ah man ! i was too excited when the game came out i just wanted to play it , only saw later that the special edition had a much , Much Better box art ... ... ...
All of these collectors editions only cost 10€ more than the regular versions though...
This reminds me that i have Black Ops' Hardened edition on my watchlist ...
Current price tag is at a hundred dollars at least ...
Bastards ! i want that turquoise colored box art and that plastic medal ! ...
I did that once.

I still cry myself to sleep to this very day.Did the same thing. Also, back then I wasn't really 'following' gaming websites and the latest gossip about games so I didn't know anything about the Versus Mode-thing. Being the uninformed bloke that I was, I bought the bloody thing. What can I say? I thought gaming was still old-school, just with new hardware.
One day, I will stab a guy named 'Capcom' in the eye.

I buy a lot of collectors editions, generally because if you wait a bit they are the same price as a regular version anyway. I don't want to list all the ones I've gotten, since I can't remember, but my favourite is the Fallout 3 collectors edition.

I use the cards whenever I play cards. Which is actually pretty often. I won like thirty bucks last Saturday in a poker game, so I guess I recouped some of my 'loss'

Hmmm ... could it be a really magic deck of cards ? ...

Yeah, a good deck of cards is a nice thing to have. I plan on picking up those Red Dead Redemption playing cards at some point. I'd like to own the Fallout ones, but I've decided that waiting for a game of the year version is the best idea for me.
Also, I only ever buy special editions with making of features or neat trinkets, such as the Fallout bobble head or the Dead Space art book. Hence why I own the Halo 3 Legendary Edition (picked it up for $60 about a month after release, the price dropped so fast because there were so damn many of them) and not the Halo Reach legendary Edition, which looked completely pointless.

I can fully understand that :/ I bought the gold edition about a week ago, mostly so I can make some freaking use of my move controllers, only to find out that the move controls are pretty horrible.. But yea I played through the game with a friend, which was kinda fun, but I wouldn't really wanna pay more than the 30€ that I paid for it... and I say that even though the gold edition actually includes every bit of dlc released so far... It isn't bad but dammit resident evil 4 was sooo much better!

Resident Evil 4 is good on the wii i think, did not expect it to be good aswell. Had trouble escaping from the chainsaw guy at the beginning, phew, what a ***** to kill.

Resident Evil 4 was a good game, it wasn't exactly Resident Evil but it was fantastic action adventure with some elements of horror and survivor.

QFT, Res 5 got rid of the horror all together which is a shame. I remember reading a preview on Res 5 2 years before it got released i think, but there was a feature that if you spend too much time in the sun, you start hallucinating. And that, sounded awesome.

Sounds like a lot of that stuff that was said about Dog Days. I'm not falling for anymore game developers' scam.
And yeah, Resident Evil 5 got rid all the horror elements and focused on more adventure romance escape/rescue mission (again). They took the elements of 4 and blew them out of the proportion.

RE4 & 5 are both garbage!
Anyways, I bought a Collector's Edition just a week ago: Gray Matter. Imported it from Germany. Apparently my brand new PC can't handle this simple p&c game so I'll have to wait for the 360 version that gets released on Februari 25th here in Europe.

I looked for game info on that game, so far i know that it is a click adventure or whatever you call it, anyway that is all i could find. Is there any combat? Is it a rpg with item management?
JackGordon
12-01-2010, 03:43 AM
It's a standard point & click. Here's a Let's Play (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dsvfJVZSz0). It's in German, but you get the idea.

I don't think RE 4 is garbage, it's just simply not exactly Resident Evil.
However, as an action adventure horror survivor game it's way better than RE 5 since it actually has some horror elements.

I liked RE4 up until Disc 2 (where the enemies fire big guns and wave stun rods). To me, the series went downhill from here on out.

Yeah, that was stupid.
However, one of my all time favorite moment is that battle against Garrador(s)...especially the one you fight both at same time.
