Deadline: Tom Hardy cast "in leading role" for Batman 3

Apparently, Nolan was so impressed with his work in Inception that he's extended Hardy an offer for Batman 3. Deadline says that it's a leading role, but the specifics are being kept a secret for now. Some reports indicate that he may in fact be the Riddler.

Interesting; Sadly I missed Inception at the cinema so I'm waiting for the BluRay release so I can't comment on what I think of his acting.

I have seen inception and i highly recommend it, i can also see him playing Riddler he has the look of a genius as well.

I saw Inception (an EXCELLENT film by the way) and I thought Tom Hardy was good but not great in the film. And as far as him being cast for a "leading role" (possibly a main villain), I have to say I'm not crazy about the idea. I CANNOT see him playing the Riddler. In fact, I would be very disappointed if that was the role he got. Of course I didn't see how Heath could pull of the Joker when he was cast...

I just don't like when directors get so attached to cast members from one movie that they insist on putting them in more of their movies.

I guess time will tell.

Tom Hardy is an excellent actor. His role in Inception was relatively small, so didn't really do him justice ... but check out films such as Bronson and Rocknrolla ... but if you're UK-based, then he also played the main "baddie" in London crime mini-series The Take (and was def the best thing in it)

However, I can't really see him as The Riddler (too bulky?) ... another role is more likely ...possibly Croc? but I'd LOVE to see him as Black Mask
