View Full Version : Which of these gameplay features will be most welcomed in returning ? ...

Here's ten gameplay features found in both Dead Men and Dog Days , if you see one that you enjoyed using in the game then you vote for it , you can vote for as many as you like , and you leave alone those that you didn't enjoy using ...
The point is to see which gameplay features gets the least vote or none at all ...
Then If we see one of these unwelcomed features making a return in the next game we can make a riot ...
Planning for the future folks , planning for the dreaded future ...
PS: i doubt i missed out any particular gameplay element in both games , but if i did , then you'll have to voice out loud , and we'll make a sub-poll with our comments in this thread ...
Assuming we'll have no problem 'counting' votes ourselves ...
Also we're not talking about graphical style , storyline , length , the A.I. or the shooting accuracy , because i doubt these are things that can ever change ...
And we're not talking about implementing 'New' gameplay features either , that will be in the topic next door ...

Down not Dead
Adrenaline + Audio flashbacks: the third time being downed but not dead.
Grab a Hostage: yes, but make the enemies pause this time...
Melee Takedowns: yes, but make 'em worth the effort.
'Button-pressed' Cover
Opening Doors: yes, but not too often.
Making Choices: only important ones.
Squad Tactics (giving orders , managing weapons , sharing ammos): occasionally

Dead Men's Sniper Rifle It would zoom in three time that's what made it better than other games sniper rifles. the only problem was there wasn't enough opportunity to use it.

I'm surprised to see the popularity of grabing the hostages ...

I'm surprised to see the popularity of grabing the hostages ...
Yeah, because it made no impact on gameplay, its not a vital cover, and does not happen offen enough, and when it does, its kind of an empty feature

Exactly , i find it to be utterly useless , in fact you die more often when you grab a hostage than when you don't ...
Perhaps in easy and normal difficulty in works better , but i always play Kane & Lynch on hard , and i don't approve of these gameplay techniques that only works on easier difficulty , it's ... it's just bad ...
Plus , why is there even an option to either 'throw' or 'shoot' the hostage if both options leads to the instant death of said hostages ...
Supposedly when you 'throw' it makes less noise , which works better in stealth sections ... but still ... it's just meh ...
Then again *thinks of Brady's stupidity of using Shangsi's daughter as a meat shield* , perhaps the uselessness of picking hostages is done on purpose ... for artistic sake ...
But it's still meh ...
PS: and on multiplayer it's just cheap , i don't know , perhaps it does work better in online modes , but then they should have just left it in the multiplayer , and use the melee attacks instead in singleplayer ...

That's why I would like to see an improved version of the "meatshields" in K&L3. One that actually works.

If this was the Hitman franchise it would have made sense to 'believe' in improvements , because that's what they always do with each new entry ...
But so far , what i see is that the things that doesn't work in the Kane & Lynch franchise gets ... taken out , or replaced by another gameplay element ...
Hell , even some of the things that do works gets taken out ...
So you'll have to forgive my skepticism ... for the moment ...

I never played a Hitman game. Or another IO title for that matter. So I'm still hoping for improvements. They need a bigger budget or something.

I saw the Hitman movie and thought it was rubbish. :p
And gheddafeckouddahee you's... I hate PC gaming. Yes, I know, part 2 3 & 4 or also on consoles but I'm broke now. Maybe next year.
EDIT: can someone tell me if some of the PS2 Hitman versions are Progressive Scan compatible?

10-07-2010, 08:18 AM
Yes i think they were ...
Maybe not all three of them ... but i think at least two of them did ... i don't know ...
What kind of a question is that anywya ? you trying to confuse me ? is that it !!! ...

Yes, I am trying to confuse you. *throws shiny object across the room*
All I know is that if I buy the Hitman games, I'll be getting Blood Money on 360. If both Silent Assassin and Contracts work with Progressive Scan, then it's the PS2 versions.

In case someone else would like to know more about what PS2 games offer HD support; here's a list (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_2_games_with_HD_support) :)
So, Blood Money does support this but I'll probably get the superawesomemega 360 version. With achievements.
And.
Still.
No.
Trophies.

I see you counted, I'm impressed but it's pretty much same here, I also found a list once with all the possible kills...there should have been an achievement for that...or at least one for getting all Silent Assassins on Professional for all levels.
Hitman is probably only game I can say I'm good at. I can't wait to see what's cooking for Agent 47...
P.S. The movie sucked off two horses and screwed a pig in the ass.

Never counted how many times i played it , but i estimated it that i must have spent at least (At Least) five hundred hours on Blood Money ...
It's not my fault if it's so damn fun to play the same level in the exact same method as i did with a fiber wire , but this time , using the silencer ...
It's one little detail , but it makes all difference , such game is just pure masterpiece ...
PS: also , it's not my fault if there wasn't any other decent games to play in 2006 ! ...
And to some extent all the way up to summer 2008 , where i finally bought a PS3 and played Dead Men ...
And.
Still.

Trophies.

Yeah well Hitman V is going to be a PS3 exclusive , and then you shall cry ...
Oh , well , a new Hitman will appear on 360 alright , but as a 2D arcade shooter ...
Guess I fell asleep during that part...
I remember seeing that , but at home , on TV ...
Whoa ... tv is bad , man ...

Actually, there's a 2D version of Bioshock for cellphones and it's pretty good. Somebody should port it to the Mega Drive or SNES.

If we're to talk about old consoles i'd rather we all start working on a Dreamcast 2 (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=267778) , right now ...
It'll be a revolutionary console , because it would not have Trophies or Achievements , it'll be free like the Wii , but with loads and loads of quality titles ! Revolution !! ...

What a coincidence. I just finished Code: Veronica X on PS2 again about two hours ago and plugged in my Dreamcast (the PAL one) 45 minutes ago to play the original version.
But yes, Dreamcast 2 would be awesome (http://blog.okajeux.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/i-have-a-dreamcast.jpg).
Guess I'm the only one to have played Blood Money just one time, not that I didn't like it, finished all in silent assassin or whatever it was the grade. Never had an urge to get back to it, I like the memory of that playthrough.
@Grievous: seriously? I'm pretty sure that the orange box was out in 2006...
gnrGrievous
10-08-2010, 06:31 AM
Nope , the Orange Box came out in late 2007 , which was another reason why alot of critics agreed that "2007 was one of the best years if not the best year in gaming" ...
In late 2006 we had the Wii and PS3's release , PC had Oblivion , PSP had Vice City Stories , and the 360 had Gears of War ...
PS2 got nada ... well we had Scarface , but Blood Money ruled the year alright ...
Yeah, you're right, Episode one was in 2006.
