EM October 2010 Review: How satisfied are you with Eidos Montreal overall?

This poll will serve as a monthly barometer, that will measure the satisfaction of how Eidos Forum members see their relationship with Eidos Montreal. In doing so, it will allow EM to keep a pulse on fan/customer sentiment. Monthly surveys will expire at the end of every month, and a new one for the next month will be generated. This way, the impressions from the community will remain fresh and viable for the benefit of both the THIEF fan community and Eidos Montreal.

I will report the results of the the monthly surveys and provide links to them every month on the Forum Feedback (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=88480) thread, so that EM will have the opportunity to make use of this information to better serve the community.

Please elaborate as to why you feel the way you do, in a respectful and sincere manner, as this will help to clarify honest praises and grievances, and will ultimately lead to creating better communications and relations for all involved...:cool:

I put neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. Really, we don't have much to go on and won't until they actually release something, so I'm holding judgment on the game until I actually have something to see. But so far? I'm not impressed. They really dropped the ball on the one piece of material they've shown thus far, being the logo. This is more than a little disquieting, but as I recall Viktoria saying in another thread, this may change when they have something to show. I dunno... But I suppose some hope is better than none. But if they don't bring back Thief and keep THIAF, I will lose all faith in this game. :(

I don't have much reason to not be Very Satisfied at this point. I'm thinking there are probably good business or marketing reasons we haven't seen anything yet. Also, a lack of interaction in the forums by EM or some of the other missteps (or perceived missteps) may have good explanations and be totally okay when its all said and done. My selfish reasons for wanting more news isn't enough for me to lower my EM-satisfaction level

I voted neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. There is nothing to feel dissatisfied about (the logo isn't that bad) but nothing for me to be satisfied also (concept art,news, etc.).

I've chosen dissatisfied, if I could have chosen an option between dissatisfied and neither satisfied nor dissatisfied I would have.

Right now, I'm a little frustrated by the lack of any news coming from the developers.

Part of me misses the times where you just bought a game without knowing anything about it. The internet has spoiled us. So from that angle, i just harken back to that time, in my mind... And make it okay. And I don't want too much of the game revealed. I enjoy a bit of a surprise. That said, I look forward to seeing some info, and some nice screens and gameplay vids, etc soon :). But I'm not ready to fault EM. Maybe they have very good reasons, including competitive advantage ones, for the silence.

I wanted to say much more but I would like to post opinions of some of the taffers at TTLG who have said all that needs to be said about this particular member, Vae(n) and his trollish attempts disguised in the form of yet another "poll".

Sorry Vae, but your thread comes off sounding rather presumptuous and more than a tad conceited in assuming that we at TTLG need a 'go-between' to represent us at EM forums. It's pretty obvious that if any of us Taffers have something to say over at EM we can post our opinions for ourselves.

wait, Thief4 is not released, there is no official info, the studio has another project in full swing that isn't released and you are doing polls about T4 forum user satisfaction ? What should I satisfied with ? there is nothing there and won't be for a long time so I can't base my opinion on anything. "

As I said in my very first post on this forum:

People like New Horizon, Vae and jtr7 are just intended to create unnecessary nuisance on Eidos forum about silly thing such as TEMPORARY Thief 4 logo. Why do they post here is a question when all they do is crib and cry about absolutely everything related to T4. Hell, even if EM DOES change the logo, one can be sure they will be starting their crusade against something else in a week's time...pathetic attempts from people who have nothing better to do in life. And they excuse themselves as "true fans" for all this buffoonery.

Viktoria, I think some stern moderation is required in this place..some people have clearly lost touch with reality and are taking advantage of your inaction. Please consider closing this stupid poll.

Most companies should be okay with taking the temperature of their customers and potential customers without taking offense... as long as the feedback is honest, constructive criticism and doesn't get too unrealistic. If done right and not taken to personal or unduly negative EM-bashing levels, this thread has the potential to serve as a good barometer for EM, if they're curious and willing to keep it open. I'd understand if they wanted to close it, though, as that temperature can be seen by reading posts and changing moods across several of the other threads. I've reported your post for calling someone an idiot on the forum, spreading hateful words at a personal level rather than just talking about the poll or games objectively with your likes and dislikes toward them. When it gets to that level, it's no longer constructive and doesn't foster a positive community atmosphere.

Seeing Vae(n)'s recent post history here, I think he is acting like an idiot. And I don't mince my words. You take offense over that just to spite me apparently, rather than seeing the logic in my post and understanding why others on his home turf (ttlg) have already rejected his motives.

Do you think EM OWES anything to anyone at this point? Acting like a big brother and watching their "performance" and "rate" them on monthly basis...? jeez, that's giving oneself so much of self-importance and acting high n mighty, only insecure people would indulge in such activities. I bet he must be plotting and planning "what should I post next on Eidos T4 forum..I am such a devoted Thief fan, after all!!" in his free time.

What feedback and constructive criticism are we talking about here? WHAT HAS EVEN BEEN REVEALED yet??? Or suddenly its in fashion to just bash the publishers / developers to prove your loyalty to a game series??? Would you be okay if there is some sort of monthly poll by EM to judge and rate a member here?

Sadly, HR may be correct, but not of my 'inaction', but rather in my assumption that we are all reasonably mature taffers around here and can expect people to moderate themselves to a degree.

Vae, I won't call you an idiot, but I will say that the poll itself is idiotic. This kind of thread may be useful in the future, but right now it is absolutely pointless so I am closing it.
