View Full Version : Here's what I really don't like...

This just bothers me for some reason.

I don't like when people join the forums to ask a question, then just leave and never return. :( If you haven't noticed this, go check out the PC forums. You'll see how many people just pack up and go right after their questions were answered.

I think it's kinda sad. They should stick around awhile.

Well, my thinking is that whenever we answer a question from a new member on the forums, we should remind them that they can stick around and be part of the group.

Who's with me on this?

Whats the big deal? Not everyone has the time to spend on a forum and not everyone wants to be part of a community. Some just want an answer to a question.

I post and stuff, but only when I've got the time. I'm more of a lurker than a poster, even on the one board I frequent the most. I'm more of an MSN dude.

Yah, it's no big deal. That's part of the reason for forums. People can find a place online to ask a question they have. Whether it's a technical question or something simple like: "I found this weird inmate in AA. He has no arm and a different looking face!" That's the beauty of the forums. Diehards can help the average gamer/comic book reader/etc.

What I DON'T like is ppl who post spam or sign up only to say "hello this forum looks neat" and then never appear EVER again.

If you take the time to sign up you should have a legit question that needs answering, only if that's the only post you ever make.

I agree with all those responded. i usually only post to get an answer and move on. while its a great community, i find myself lurking everyday here rather than posting. that's usually cause my input in topics tends to get overlooked, which becomes frustrating so i just stopped altogether. it's only when i started my role-play site a couple weeks ago i decided to reach out cause while i don't talk to anyone here, i love the sense of community and would love to have those kind of people in my project

If you think about what you get when you use Google, it's responses from FORUMS that pop up to questions about games, PCs, etc. Well, these are the official forums for AA, so if people have questions, they ask them here first. Then, after the questions have been answered here, other people can find it by using Google :p

New people posting, asking questions that have already been answered, simply just don't know, it seems, to use the search function here, or Google, itself.

As for the topic: there's nothing wrong with one-time posters, or people who ask questions, then that's it. Eidos, and all sensible forums, encourage that just as much as return community posters.

No offense but this would make a nice blog.

You wont belive how much i use google or bing. Im mean serious if people took 30 secs of extra time to look for answers to their own question....

There are some questions better asked on a forum though. Questions more complicated or personalized than a Google result.

I'm glad everyone here doesnt have that 'go to google' attitude when a question is asked lol. forums, especially this one with all the good people in it, are here to help others as well as build community.

I think in large part the reason the community hasn't been growing and we get a lot of one-time posters is because the game has been out for over a year now and everyone has moved on to waiting for Arkham City. While the few new people that do show up are simply late to the party or are playing again for the first time in a while and discovering new things.
