2 Major Issues With PS3 Version??

Evening, this is my 1st post.

Have been playing Just Cause 2 on the PS3 for weeks now & think it's possibly the best game i've ever played (well done Eidos).

My 1st question relates to the Pelantar Minyak Gerudi Besar rig & it's inability to be 100% completed. I originally got to about 60% overall game complete when i last tried to destroy the rig & could only get to 97%. Following this failure i read up that i needed to complete a mission that involved the rig (Black Gold i think) before i could go & 100% destroy the rig, so in frustration as having not followed this route, i deleted my progress & started all over again.

On my second attempt to complete the game, i have left all the rigs well alone until being over 90% game complete (thus all missions are well & truly complete), however i've just tried again to complete this rig again & i can't get past 97%. All items are destroyed & collected. Please help as i'm now at 94.82% game complete & i'll go insane if i'm going to be unable to achieve 100% having gone through the whole game a 2nd time.:mad2:

The second issue is that i'm encountering a fairly frequent freeze/hang when i pause the game. Happens after the controller has gone into sleep mode so i press the PS button to awake it but then none of the controls work so i can't re-start the game & have to exit the game via the PS button & re-start. Any ideas?

Have just bought Just Cause 2 in PC version as well, so i can play the game when i'm away on business. Does the PC version differ to the PS3 version much?

This is the first I heard of a rig not being able to complete to 100%. Is it possible you've missed one item or explodable thing. It's easy to miss the generators on those rigs. I've heard of course of the Black Gold glitch, but I know that's not what you're talking about.

I've only had on freeze on the game, but I haven't been away for the controller to sleep.

PC version should have better graphics, and mods like unbreakable and multiple grapples - that should add some extra fun.

Thanks for your reply. It is the same rig as the Black Gold task, however that task was completed days ago as i'm now at 95.5% game complete. Defo nothing left to blow up or collect on that rig & i've 100% completed all the other rigs on the map.

I did notice that after destroying all the items on this particular rig, i was only at 69% destroyed yet when on every other rig i'm at 73% destroyed when all items are destroyed & just the collectables left.

Anyone know of a fix as having got so far the 1st time i played, only to re-start from the beginning & now at 95.5% complete, it will hurt like hell if i can't 100% complete the PS3 version (has taken weeks off my life already):lol:

If it really can't be 100% completed, then there is no fix. It wasn't addressed in the patch. I can probably get a chance to look at that rig myself this weekend and see what I find - if I can finish it. The only thing I can think of is somehow that it being involved in the mission it can get mixed up on how much is complete.

The problem is purely with this one rig, all the others i've 100% completed. I do recall reading that a known problem existed if this rig was destroyed before the Black Gold mission, then it became impossible due to a bug to complete the rig. This was why i restarted the game a couple of weeks back when i was at 60+% game complete so i could re-do the mission & NOT destroy the rig.

Defo been weeks of fun but this now apparent innability to ever 100% complete the game is going to frustrate me. Thank you & let me know how you get on?

Can't wait to try out the PC version soon.
