I have noticed that in fragile alliance, there seems to be no cars that explode or grenades to buy. Am I mistaken? Was this done was an anti-griefing precaution?

They did the canisters instead, fire extinguishers in the demo and presumably oxygen/acetylene tanks etc, in the full version. As far as exploding cars, and this is my opinion, but i think it's too overdone. Aside from getting hit with an actual explosive, i think it'd be fairly hard to get one to explode - most gas tanks are made from plastics and designed specifically to prevent that kind of accident-

Cars don't explode (if you don't rig them with explosives). You can shoot them to a swiss-cheese-like pile of junk, and that's it.

From what i've seen in the trailers , i think that a 'few' cars might explode , but for dramatic purposes of course ...
Scripted car explosions then ...
Not like in Dead Men where every vehicle could blow up ...

that was friggin annoying. You would have 6 enemies shooting at you so you take cover behind a car, only to have it explode and kill you :mad2:

Mythbusters did it. You can't blow up a car with bullets no matter where you shoot it!

Well it was that game's style of adding of sense of intensity and urgency , by making covers dangerous ...

Yeah , didn't worked that well now did it ...

They did eventually manage to do it with incendiary rounds though right? Can't remember what kind of gun they used though..

I wish we could shoot the passengers that are inside the van before it leaves, feels akward when, as a cop, you are in front of a open backpassenger van and being unable to do anything...

Haven't Movies taught you ANYTHING!

1. Shoot a Car with ANY Gun, it explodes.
2. Shoot someone in the Head, their Head explodes.
2. The nice Guy always gets the Girl.

Also there are no Grenades in the game due to it being a Boosting Tactic in the first game.

The nice Guy always gets the Girl.

Wrong... It's more like

Rated PG - The good guy gets the girl.

Rated R - The bad dude gets the girl.

Rated NC - Everyone gets the girl.

I think that the Extinguishers make an excellent replacement for grenades in multiplayer. The way that you have to find them on the field, and can't shoot while carrying them, and it's obvious to everyone else when you have one (so if you see someone grab the one at the very beginning of the level and wait for everyone to bunch up...) makes them a surprisingly balanced asset. They're quite powerful and useful, but not immensely so, and you don't get an entire team starting with tons of them at the beginning; if you want one you have to seek it out.

I don't watch PG rated rubble..

I do kind of miss the tear gas from K&L 1 that you could pick up and throw back - I can see the argument that bank robbers wouldn't carry hand grenades but police would definitely use tear gas-

Tear gas and/or flashbangs. Both great additions.

I've been killed by so many random fire extinguishers. I'm glad cars don't explode.

That's what I love about that parking block section in the beginning of the game. Hell a lot of cars, which prove fine as cover, but also one or several fire extinguisher on pretty much every wall and pillar. So while you are rather safe behind a car (as long as you don't stick your head out too often), you're also prone to flash fires. Fire extinguishers imho have perfect range and power, only impacting on a very small radius (You can even down enemies by simply hitting them with the extinguisher - or whatever you are throwing at them - itself). What I didn't like was the fuel canisters. First of all, fuel canisters do not explode in real life, second, the impact radius in the game is unbelievably large, too. I'm fine with the propane tanks, however.

There's a blasting cap floating around in there.

No. That had a 'M' rating in Australia :lmao:

Rightfully so, I dare say. It's probably the most dark and violent movie ever to be rated PG in the US. Just because there's no blood, nudity and excessive language in it doesn't make it any less kid-proof.

It's PG-13.

Doesn't make much of a difference. In my opinion, a movie like TDK is nix for teens - same goes for the Arkham Asylum videogame, which was rated T. Damn, it was going to be rated M and all they had to do was remove some blood from the walls. That's what I call severe hypocrisy. The brawls themselves are rather comical, but all those bone snapping takedown moves are definitely not what I would have my kid amuse himself over.

Ha! Clockwork Orange, a Classic! It was a instant 'R' Rating in Australia. Funny story; My Dad took my Mum to see that Movie for their first date decades ago.. Not a very romantic film!

I believe it is set in perfect universe where it's not as campy as Batman Forever but it's not as dark as Batman Returns. To me, it's balanced hence getting the PG-13 rating.

More romantic than Saló, 'though :D .

I dated my former gf over Closer, which seemed like a romantic flick first, first, but eventually turned into a cynical torrent of nihilism. It was a perfect evening :D .

Now, let's get back to topic, shall we?
