Hey everybody. I don't know how many of you remember Batman: Revolved here in the off-topic section, but it was one of my very first full stories, in fact it was what started my writing. Well, guess what! Now I am getting my first book published. If you have read the draft of Sodliers of the Damned over in the General Discussion area, that is the book I am publishing.

So anyways, this is a thread about Batman and how he is related to my book. Well, Batman: Revolved is pretty much in the Soldiers of the Damned universe, so to speak, but I took the revolved story and made everything that was revolved still there, but I took out Batman. You won't be seeing this until book 2 is in stores (will not be posting it online, nor will I be posting all of book 1), but there are several flashback moments that involve almost the same exact story Revolved had, only better. There are no bat-villains, and the characters are all my originals so there is no copyright, but there will be several refrences to not just Revolved for Batman himself. Here is an example (a line I have planned for a later chapter in book 2)

Ok so there is a mysterious super-hero named Death. He dresses like the grim reaper. (Many who have read revolved will remember this), and he is talking to our main hero Randy Miller, and his freind Drake. Death pulls out this little gadget that is like a cylander that turns into a long staff that he uses in his fighting. (Ok I know this sounds really cheesy but thats just because I am still working out the kinks, and it is much more descriptive in the book itself )

Drake: Well... that's cool.

Death: You think so?

Drake: Yeah, reminds me of Batman, how he has all the gadgets and stuff.

Death: Well there's just one problem.

Randy: Problem?

Death: We kill.

Like I said, still working it out, but that is just one of the references I will have. Nothing to the point of actually including him in my novel, because I am not copying anybodys work. :)

As a fellow Bat-fan I thought I would share this with you all because I thought you might enjoy the little Batman references I will have scattered in the book. Hell, maybe only true Bat-fans like yourselves will be able to figure some of them out.

Your thoughts?

If you could read a book online, why would you buy it? But don't worry, as my buddy your going to be getting straght-to-email chapters of all five books. I am going to stop posting chapters on here at chapter 15. That said though, I will be posting constant updates on the progress of every book. :D

You could say I think before I write. ;)

EDIT: So you think that reaching out to my fellow Bat-fans such as your self is a good idea Cope?

I'm a writer, too (although a much less talented one than you) I published a short horror story for a magazine called Dark Shadows about a man who, after murdering someone, begins to see shadows and apparitions that slowly drive him to the brink of insanity.

I also write patient interviews on this forum (go check them out, they're pretty good)

I have checked out the interviews, and I think that they are spot on! Don't listen to anybody who tells you otherwise, alright? Because I think they are great. :)

Not to hijack the thread, but I have some great ideas for Batman stories -- graphic or in novel form. Would anyone be interested in doing frame artwork for a comic series? Penciling, coloring, whatever?

No offense, but please stay on topic. You should ask this in the fan-art section though. :D

Not true. Cope and I talked about the books series, and my idea. And Mad Batter talked about his own writings. Your post, on the other hand, had absolutely nothing to do with what I was talking about, which is writing and my idea. But oh well, your welcome. ;)

Can't we work together and all be fwends?

Anyway, your idea sounds awesome.

What publishing house u looking at?

Aladdin and Penguin are ok, other smaller ones are better because they give u more attention.

I like the snappy dialogue in revolver. Sweetness!

I'm going to start going over publishers with a man who lives down the street from me. He knows a lot and hs a lot of connections so he is getting me in. :)
