And its coming SPRING 2011!!!

Just read this on a forum HERE (http://www.toonzone.net/forums/showthread.php?t=271245)

The "All Star Superman" animated feature was officially confirmed by Warner Home Video on July 24th, 2010 during the San Diego Comic-Con 2010.

Does this mean we might get ASBAR one day???

The difference between All-Star Superman and Batman is that Superman is eisner awarded and generally loved, wheres All-Star Batman is generally disliked. Still i was very excited to hear this news. :) Even made a thread, but you we're faster.

I beat Drazar lol!!! Woop woop (do I get a prize?)

That's what I thought, but maybe a ASBAR movie could undo all the bad done (seemingly) that people don't like about the story and make it work?

I wondered why they were promoting All Star Superman on the DC comic app... Now I know why :)

Why not just adapt something else? Like Chuck Dixon's Robin Year One? Thats a more calm and appreciated take on Robin's first year.

It's also because All-Star Superman happens to be one of the most loved Superman stories out there. Yeah it's like less than 5 years old, but the awards speak for itself.

You don't know what I mean by All Star Superman storyline is being made into an animated movie for 2011. Or you don't understand why theres is a half naked Neil Patric Harris in the thread?

Awesome news. I don't see (or want) an ASBAR movie though.

Please, oh please let us get ASBAR!!!! It would be a perfect follow up to the Year One movie being produced.

Bring on the ASBAR hate!!! I'll just laugh at you for being cowards.

Even if you want it, it would have to be toned down. I know UTRH is violent, but ASBAR is just ridonkulus.

How does not liking or not wanting an ASBAR movie make you a coward?

Anyway, I'd actually like an ASBAR movie because to fit it into the 75 minute time frame they'd have to chop it down and streamline it which is exactly what that comic needs IMO.

Actually yeah! ASBAR would work if it was forced to get to the point! (IMO)

As I have said before, it would help clean the story up a bit, make it more streamline like they did with UTRH.
Guess well see with superman

It's collected in two volumes and definatly worth the read. All Star Superman has won 4 Eisner awards and 3 Eagle awards. It's a great metaphor story about how we all can be Superman of our own rights, and showing how human and awesome Superman truly is. Alot of people don't seem to check out Superman comics because "he's too powerful!" or "he's not human enough" while he clearly is all about being human.

Definatly check the comics out, and i quarentee it will make you a Superman fan. :thumb:

You don't need to read ASSM for that. You just need to read one page from it:

Don't hate me, but i think that scene is alittle bit overrated. I love it as much as the next guy, but i find some other scenes much more worth praising for. Mainly How Superman finally defeats Lex Luthor. What a great relevation.

Anyhow: Dwayne Mcduffie is doing the script! (http://dwaynemcduffie.com.lamphost.net/wordpress/?p=900)

I think the beauty of that scene is a combination of the simplicity of it (One page, five panels) and the fact that Regan's doctor is in the book for like, one panel and his dialog is among other people's dialog and completely unimportant compared to the main story and then a few pages later Superman says he's gotta go and even though he's dying and trying to go around and do everything he has to do before he goes he still makes time for this one person. The way Regan is introduced parallels the fact that you'd think she was "too small". Her reference is just a bit of dialog along many balloons and you think its insignificant and don't even notice it but to Superman nothing is insignicant or unimporant. I think its just really clever and a perfect bite-sized example of why Superman is the shiznit.

Nice, now if we could only find out who is scripting the Nightwing animated movie and UTRH sequel, hmmmm...

I currently have Judd Winnick and Bruce Timm in my cupboard a la Jason Todd/ Joker until Winnick writes it and Timm gets it made

Ssshhh, don't tell the cops :nut:
