Wow, it been 7 years and people still talk about that error, lemme search the forums to find the old thread we made.
here you go, i don't remember much but most members replaced their dvds, i think it was related to some extension problem, and ofc i fixed it by shaking my ps2 lmao, dun ask, it actually worked, anyway here it is http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=20330
alllll right, you are already there, and the post is under yours....right lmao, didn't notice, anyway, try cleaning the dvd or buy another replacement, it was pretty much unfixable for most of the users.

I called Eidos today before I checked this, and they recommended that I either delete the savegame, and try starting again, otherwise replace the disc.
