Ivy and the Glasshouse Glitch [GOTY]

I'll post my specs for starters:

OS: Windows Vista 64-bit
Processor: Intel i7 920
RAM: 9GB
Graphics Card: nVidia GTS 250

Needless to say my computer can literally run the game on it's highest setting (with physX off) just fine.

My problem is that I'm encountering a completely missing stage on my Steam copy of Batman AA GOTY. One I go through the door I just fall into an abyss of darkness with nothing I can do about it. It wasn't this way the first time i was there but now that I've returned it seems not to want to appear. My drivers are updated and I've tried looking the problem up but oddly enough only got information of pirated versions of the game. I bought it through steam just last week and don't understand why I'm having this problem. Has anyone encountered/fixed this problem?

Try redownloading the game - it seems like one of the files has not survived the download process unscathed - a couple of other people have had that (both with the Steam version and when installing from DVD), and redownloading/reinstalling has solved it for them.

Oh, ouch. Oh well, will only take me 2 nights, I can survive. Hopefully next time around it'll work. Will it be fine if I use the same gamesave? Any idea where it's located? That way I can just try from there with the new download.

Yeah - when you uninstall the game asks you whether you want to delete saves - just click the no button and the saves should be there next time you install.

ahh man i tryed that it did not work i reinstalled it and i cant see any thing (by any thing i mean ivy's plats and the arkham inmates) but here is the real problem i cant get to ivy....
when i enter the gardens and an invisibale plant blocks my way i tryed every thing btw you know the 1st time in the gardens when ivy blocks the exit and you get out underground that those not work to enter it is like you just got out of the intensive treatman (sorry if i speled something wrong i am bulgarian)........
1st the doar to arkham north (not sure that is north i just know that that is the way to the medical building ) is bloked like when you first get out and see arkham island
next i have
all the bios and thropies (exept 1 bio and 2 thropies but you gett the thropies if you beat the game soo...)
and i have 214/240 ridells...............

So some one PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
