Hi all. :) I just downloaded Opera last night, and it is probably the BEST download I have ever made!! :)
I'm amazed at how fast it loads everything - Internet Explorer took forever to load these forums this morning; Opera took seconds!! :o Amazing!! :):):)

It's a web browser, like Internet Explorer and Netscape.
I would try it but my attention span is too small...

I just tried this out with Opera 6.03, and I didn't notice any major difference in speed between it and IE 6.0.
I have to say, however, that the rendering of the pages leaves a lot to be desired. Call me silly, but I like to have that column with the posters' names the same width all the way down.
But if things like this don't bother you, Opera is a viable alternative to IE and Netscape.

LOL, I just never got around to downloading it before - but that confounded IE has been giving me a TRILLION errors lately, I don't really like Netscape all that much, and, finally, a friend reccomended Opera; I'm VERY happy I did. :)

Hmmm...for me, IE does the same thing - no even columns. :( Also, IE goes like molasses half the time for me, as well as freezing up, and closing in the middle of my projects.

Sounds like you need to do some clearing out and do a fix on IE.
I was curious about Opera but heard it was still very buggy.

Must be something in the water.

I'm on Windows XP and I tried IE 6, Opera 6 and Netscape 6 (all of them updated to the latest version) first with dial-up and then with cable connection. I loaded the OT Forum's main page multiple times and watched the average time for loading.
Well, Opera was the fastest, then Netscape and then IE, the time difference was within 10 seconds between the first and the third one. But I choose IE because the graphics rendering engine of both Opera and Netscape is worse than IE's. The visual quality was vastly decreased on Netscape and Opera in comparison to IE. Beside this, Opera has annoying advertising banners.
So, I vote for IE! :):D
