Issue with Free Trade/Roaches First Mission

I have tried this 7 different times but I think this Mission may be bugged. I am playing the game on the PC Version.

I pick up the First Roaches Mission called Free Trade (I think it is called that), and I am suppose to take over the Harbour and escort the Technician but the damn Technician and his sidekicks never ever follow me. They just stand at the Drop Site and yell Gratz to me all the time and yells lets move Roaches. I tried reloading "start from last checkpoint" and poof they appear just outside the main gate but absolutely never ever follow me anywhere after that. I clear the Wharehouse, even kill the Sniper at the top of the Crane and get the "great let's move in/on" from the NPC but yet they still stay behind at the Main Gate.

If I try and move beyond that Crane/Sniper area I get "you are currently leaving the Mission zone" and have to move back before the timer expires. I understand that they wait a little behind until I clear the are but they never even leave either to help me clear the gate nor the Warehouse. But I still get all the messages about him saying "let's move on Roaches".

I have tried reloading from a previous Save, closed down the game and re-started and even rebooted the computer but still can't get this Mission done because the Technician does not move at all. I have re-stared the Mission from the very beginning where you meet the Roaches Leader several times as well but to no avail.

Is this a Bug or am I suppose to be doing something else?

You may have to reinstall the game as i have played this mission also on P.C and they followed me through and completed it???
There are some very frustrating faction missions in this game especially the next roaches mission with the timed bombs.

Weird one, this.

I don't remember it well enough to comment on what's going wrong. There's this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAJjfay3Wbc) on YouTube of the mission being completed successfully. Maybe it's worth having a quick look to see if the creator of the video is doing something that you're not? That's about all I can suggest for now.

I had that problem. Kill the technician, start again. If bug reappears, persist with aforementioned solution.

This might be a silly suggestion,but did you approach the techy and hear him say,scorpio you have to keep me safe etc,if no this is the issue,just face him and wait,he does speak to you :rasp:

To answer GB619's Question: Yes I did that and he barks his Gratz and commands to me and his co-horts but never follows me. But I will try the other suggestion to simply kill him and see what happens. I am even thinking that maybe I should Grapple him past the Main gate (he will suffer some damage though), but this may initiate the Mission to move forward.

Well I am really getting Ticked off now!

I tried all your recommendations for the Free Trade Mission, killed the Technician, reloaded, tried again, started again and so on with no luck, so now I move on to the White Tiger Mission, same exact Frigging Thing, I am suppose to escort him after killing the executioner and Bingo, he stays there and yells "let's move on" or "get me to safety" over and over again. I cleared everything out of the way, waited 5 minutes and created more heat killed them all, and still he stands there without moving. I killed him 3 times and even stuffed a Grenade in his pants, re-started the mission from different angle and still nothing.

I am almost to the point of giving up on the game now, as I can't get anything else done within limits without doing these missions......

I know this may sound like a dumb question and I'm certainly not calling you dumb, but you did open the security gate right?

I'm having the same issue. No enemies. No objective to go open the gate. No, I can't open the gate without the objective. :mad2:

Strange,all i can think of is if you have not already done this,but when you un-install the game,make sure you delete the install folder in your program files,cos if you dont do this the bug will stillbe there,then do a complete re-install,hope this suggestion sorts your issue:)

FINALLY!!

I fixed the issue both with the Roaches Technician and White Tiger NPCs not following me.

I right clicked on Properties on the Steam Folder, then ran a "check Integrity or cache" thing, Steam ran the test and said that there was one problem and proceeded to re-download the game/Install it. I still had all my saved games and when it completed it, I launch it and Voila! The issue was fixed.
