Help! Getting back into the missions..

I got this off Steam, started playing, crashed a couple of times so updated Nvidia drivers and now plays fine. But..

I'd completed the first mission and headed for the Casino. I saved the game at the start. Then I kind of died a little, so tried resume and it took me back to the first mission. So I reloaded, and it took me back to the safe house.

Problem is that seems to have zero'd my progress, I'm in sandbox mode and I can't figure out how to get missions. I've been running around capturing villages and bases, but can't access black market or seem to get any missions going again. Map didn't show any mission locations and I've not stumbled across the casino yet to see if that'll get me back on track.

Any ideas? Hopefully not involving restarting, otherwise I'll just have to carry on conquering the island my way!

You've hit the dreaded autosave corruption bug. As per my post here (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=106116). You'll have to load a manually saved game, or start over. Crappy, I know. I lost about 11 hours' progress due to the same problem. Needless to say I now save manually, often.

Thanks.. I ended up restarting as not completing the starter missions seemed to break a lot. Seems like completing those also spawns most of the population. Before, it was just army and militia on the streets, now it's got the population.
