annoying problem [PS3]

Hay guys, i downloaded and played the demo earlier today and found that i couldnt press X or O without pressing both of them together. I play ps3 btw and my button layout in general for the system is O for enter and X for cancel. I played the game and when it said press O to continue, it wouldnt do it so i pressed everything and ive found that pressing O and X together makes it work, this is the same for X. so when ever i needed to jump or use the parachute i had to press them both. Oh, and when i tryed hacking into a system in a base, when it said to press O or X it wouldnt work because of this problem. Please reply ASAP since im going offline and will probably forget to read this later. I do hope this is not the button layout or its just my demo that screwed up :hmm:

Um ok, i deleted it and re installed but it still the same problem. its REALLY annoying! btw i live in the UK. anyone knowing a resolution should please post!!:mad2::mad2::mad2:

Try to download it from an asian PSN account.

yh, i know its jap. I kinda figured because the button layout. From your replies i have gathered answers. 1: i do not need a new controller because it dosnt happen for anyother of my games. 2: how am i ment to find the demo on a jap PSN store?? Overall its too much trouble for a demo. ive already pre ordered the game and hopefully we will just see that it dosnt happen in the actual game. theres nothing wrong with the controller, i have the same problem cuz my PS3 is from Hong Kong n i live in the UK now with a UK accout, other demo's adapt to the button layout n same with games, i messaged mycoldman bout it n he said there shudnt be a problem with the full game but there may be an update, so for now we just got to carry on with our layout messed up.

I didn't have this problem but I did use my Uninted Kingdom PSN account to download the demo so I could get it sooner....... So maybe there is diffrence in demo because it worked for me...

same problem for me too - japanese PS3 and European store. First time this happens on a PS3 game/demo. I guess the PS3 isn't really reliable lately... :mad2:

Does anyone know :
1) is Eidos correcting this glitch on the demo?
2) what about the final game? I wouldn't buy it if it doesn't work properly...

As said before. Try D/Ling the jap Content.

To do this make a new user on your playstation (call is jap account :scratch:) Go to sign in or create PSN account, put that your japanese and follow the instructions. After using a public buildings address and post code or even the jap tesco address :D.

Now log in, and go into your PSN store, and download the content which is ment for the jap market.

I also have this problem, I have a PS3 in Japan.

With no word on any fix, I am going to cancel my pre-order and wait and see what happens. For others in this situation, if you decide to take the risk and order it anyway then please post on here so people like me who cancel can get the game after all.

Download the demo from the proper region, if you have a euro ps3, get the euro demo from the euro store....

This is not eidos' fault, this is your fault wondering why things downloaded from a different region dont work.

I live in Japan and this ther is no demo from the Japanese network. I download almost all of my demos via the USA/UK store and have never had a problem before.

I also had this game pre-ordered from USA, but had to cancel because of this problem. The Japanese version does not come out soon and will be censored.

The problem is apparently not the network, asian ps3 fat units. Some people have a Japanese ps3 and live and use it in the states, and still have a problem. My friend here in Japan has a slim ps3 and can play the demo fine.

The ps3 is region free, thats why I own one. Games from different regions being broken has not been a problem yet.

I have a JPN PS3 because I wanted it early when it was released and especially because it is zone-free. Why are ALL games working just fine and not JC2? I am just wondering.

As others I had the US version pre-ordered and canceled it as I want first to know if I'll have the same problem with the final version.

You're right actually. I am lucky enough to have a 360 too, I will probably wait for the Euro version then (PAL 360). Let's not start anything here but I must admit that my PS3 image has suffered lately (March 1st bug, Just Cause 2 demo bug - stuff that I am not experiencing on my 360).

I Agree 360 is far better with its DJ style Scratching disc's :D, who needs BR movies when you can get HD-DVD ones instead.... Oh wait you can't. Who needs linux operating system options to turn a "games console" into a pc..... nuf said

Without starting something I would like to clarify the bug, It was a bug that made the ps3 think it was a leap year. a firmwire update would of worked aswell as there answer of leaving it 2 days. the arc is still a nice firmware.

What I'm getting at is a "BUG" is fixable. where a fault like scratching disc's (or rather carving into them) is a fault which can be fixed... by replacing hardware or just buying a new one. The bug cause no immediate damage to system or/and software. the 360DJ bundle wrecked software.

What I'm getting at is Both consoles have risks but overall the 360 has damaged software rather than a ARC bug.

The problem is that 'should' is not good enough. Either it will be fixed or it won't. Either we will have to update or we won't. 'should' or 'may need to' is not a solid answer. I want to know if I'm am going to be able to play this game out of the case. This game ships pretty soon, they know whether this will be fixed or not and I just want a straight up yes or no.

In all fairness to Eidos PS3's are Region Stamped for this reason. If you download the UK(PAL) demo and it won't work on a imported system then thats not there fault. The demo was probably not Multiregion for 2 reasons.

1. They would be downloading the demo from the PSN which in its self has different content and layout depending on the region your PSN ID is allocated to (When you choose UK USA JAPAN etc etc). Which always means that the region your PSN ID is attatched to is the region you will get.
2. To make it multiregion means they will get more and more bugs due to multiregion codes. This would hinder there attempts at ironing out the bugs.

Has ANYBODY downloaded the JC2 JAP demo from PSN store to see if it is purely multiregional? If not do so, this could be the answer to your problems before the actual multiregion game comes out.

Well I hate to break this to you, but that is the reason why it doesnt work, download it from the proper region associated to your Playstation 3 and it will work fine.
Doesnt matter if all other games dont, you have a problem, I am telling you what is causing it. The rest is your problem, not mine or the devs.

Fact of the matter is if you do not want this problem, you need to download it to your matching region. If this answer is useless, then so is your complaining, as I told you the solution.

If your region is Japan, then you cant download it because it aint there, and it wont be for a long time.

Anyway, who cares about the demo anymore, I want to know if I can play the US version on my ps3 which is from Japan.

Because I live Japan.

Also many people bought Japanese PS3s early on because they were delayed in many parts of the world.

So, to play English I/we have to import them from UK/US etc.

The playsation is region free and I have never had a problem with any other game.

PS3 games are region free and so should the demo's be too, bad form DEVS. Hate how they're playing games with us, no Australian option on their JC2 official website, Australia gets JC2 a week later! Screw you guys, im going home........... end of rant.
