UPDATE: FLASH UP AND RUNNING?
http://comicbookmovie.com/fansites/LetsCutTheBS/news/?a=15276
This from IESB.net:
"IESB has learned exclusively that WB is lining up a director for another high profile DC character; Greg Berlanti is the leading contender to helm "The Flash"
Which is great news and also goes with the Movie Model DC is building to showcase all the great characters of the Justice League individually and then ultimately into one film.
IESB.net goes on to say:
"DC Entertainment is surely on fire. Nelson and company are hitting the ground running, pun intended. The Nolan Bros. and David Goyer getting their hands all over the Caped Crusader and The Man of Steel sounds about right."Green Lantern" moving forward under the watchful and capable eye of Martin Campbell and possibly now Greg Berlanti dashing into the fray with "The Flash".
Apparently the head honchos over at DC are very impressed with how much of a positive impact Greg has had prepping Martin Campbell's 'Green Lantern'.
Greg Berlanti had the directing gig before Warner Bros ultimately decided to go with Martin Campbell.
There you have it. Place The Flash back on the radar.

Now this is all complete speculation right now, but DC seems to be getting their act together with the Green Lantern and hopefully when that is successful they focus on their other heroes. If Marvel isn't afraid to give even the smallest characters their own movie, why doesn't DC do the same?
Comic book movies are extremely popular today, so it's not like they'd lose money on the film. They'll always turn a profit.
Some sites are citing this as confirmation of the next movie but until we see an official press release I'm treating it as further speculation. Anyway, here are the excerpts from the article in which, while interviewing Nolan about working with Robinov, they seem to confirm the next Batman picture and later let it slide that Flash or Wonder Woman might be one of the next DC characters they focus their lenses on.
"He is trying not to cling to the things that have worked in the past," said Christopher Nolan, who directed "The Dark Knight" and is working on another Batman sequel....
The Walt Disney Company's $4 billion purchase of Marvel Entertainment just over a month ago has increased the pressure on Warner to succeed this time. Warner is expected to announce a DC slate in the coming months populated by characters like the Flash and Wonder Woman."
This sounds to me like it could just be speculation on the interviewer's part after yesterdays announcements that the third Batman film was in the works with Jonah Nolan and David Goyer on board to cowrite the script, and that Christopher Nolan would be over seeing the latest Superman movie. But, either way, with all of these stories popping up, expect official confirmation soon.
